The old times

Just a little practice. I enjoyed drawing this old man. Haha

So yesterday I didn't have anyone to talk to from my batch because everyone's busy 'cause of college! Besides Joan, Pat and Bets who were answering the Eye Spy Terible Challenge in Facebook. Haha but today I'm glad I got to talk to lots of people I haven't heard from since the beginning of time! Haha Got to chat with Ayana, Conrad, Cody, Noreen, Shay, Mark, Omar, Patty and Carla! So now I don't feel that much left out. Heh.

A few days remain until we go to school and I cannot wait any longer! I'm excited but at the same time, still don't want to leave our home. :(

Of faces and sounds

Who can tell me who's the guy in the blue shirt? Hahahahahaha! Oo alam ko... Hindi kamukha ng taong nais kong iportray. Pero come on, make a wild guess! XD

I've been practicing drawing these past few days. I'm trying to experiment with other various styles of drawing and coloring. Besides drawing I've been playing the piano more often too! When I was a kid, I've always wanted to learn to play the piano because of all the musical instruments in existence, the piano, for me, makes the most beautiful sounds. And I love listening to classical music. But since I'm such a lazy kid back then and my studies were my first priority, I didn't get to learn.

However, last April, when Julie and Levi went here to sleep over, Julie saw our piano and played lots of great pieces! I got inspired again so she taught me how to play the intro of Yiruma's River Flows in You. Since then, I've been searching tutorials in Youtube to teach me some of the songs I've been dying to play in the piano. So far, I can play the intro of A Thousand Miles, Boston and How to Save a Life. But I'm still trying to practice ATM because it's so fast. haha Thank you Julie for inspiring me once again! Haha

On my way

Brother Bear aired again on Disney last Saturday. Since I still had a hangover, I decided to draw a fan art! Here's Kenai as a bear and the spirit of the eagle is his brother Sitka. This drawing is about living a new life in new shoes, well in Kenai's case, in paws! While I did this fan art, I played Phil Collins' On my Way and Look Through my Eyes in my iPod in loop! It inspired me more and gave me the right atmosphere to work because those songs hold inspirational messages. :D

Last Saturday I watched Brother Bear again in Disney Channel and I couldn't help but cry when Kenai realized that the bear he killed in the start of the movie was Koda's mom. I always cry in these kinds of parts! But I have no problem with that because I want to feel the message being brought by the movie, you know what I mean? Disney movies always leave a big impact on me. Like Hatching Pete, which was aired yesterday night. (Wait, lookie here. I just turned on the TV and it's airing now. HAHA)

It's about stepping out from your comfort zone, taking a deep breath and plunging into the great depths of the ocean below. It's about taking a risk, an opportunity that might never appear before you again.

But in time you will know that nothing will ever come to you when you don't take chances and don't accept changes. Pete Ivey had a choice when the whole school wanted him to take the mascot off. What did he choose? He chose to take it off, take the burden of not being confident enough off. A chicken is not meant to stay in the quarters of its shell but to hatch from it and live a life. To be known. To be loved. And the outcome? People cheered for him, for Pete. And that made all the difference!

The impact brought by this movie to me was that I became more confident with what I want to achieve in life even though it seems impossible to happen. And it made my image on myself healthier and wiser.

Man, I love Disney movies. :D

Virus, layas na.

Presenting Robbie and Sera! I just decided that I'll just call the comic Sibling Rivalry. Haha so there. I just colored it in earlier. I've colored three sketches today because there is absolutely nothing to do! Well, there's always TV. Hahaha! I'm waiting for Brother Bear to air in Disney!!

Ok. So balita ko eh classes will resume on June 15. Angel says that meron na rin daw yatang case ng A(H1N1) sa FEU. And UST? I don't know. Let's just wait for the news. It's a good thing our classes start on July 13 so there's no possibility for me to get contact with the virus or anything. SANA. Haha ayaw ko magkaroon non! Gusto ko ng magcollege at mag-aral. Wow that's something you don't hear from me everyday. Well get this, I miss studying! I miss cramming. I miss opening those textbooks and pouring theories and ideas into my nut of a brain. Hahaha all I've been doing this summer is draw, color, watch TV, net, eat, sleep, you know the drill. At least, I'm still learning from everything I've been doing. Ha!

Well I hope everyone who's got the virus will respond nicely to the medicine and treatments they've been getting as to not make matters worse. Oh virus layas na, layas na!!!

It's what they call tough love

I spent last night thinking and drawing about the two main characters of the comic strip I'll be making. I'm done with the designs and guess what they have names already. They grow up so fast... *tears* Haha. Eto na sila Robbie at Sera. :D (Though I might alter Robbie's appearance. I'll make him more likeable. Haha) While drawing I was listening to Regina Spektor's songs. I've got Real Love stuck in my head! :)

Quick sketch just so one can see what they basically look like. And yes, I will still alter Robbie's appearance~ :D

STEP One of making my summer productive is complete! PERO Wala pang title. What should I call the comic strip? It's about two siblings always fighting. Haha Tough Love, Sibling Rivalry or whatever you have in mind to suggest? I'm open to suggestions!~

The moment I woke up this morning, I turned on the TV and found out that Treasure Planet's on air in Disney Channel. I sat up straight immediately and watched it up until the ending credits. Haha one of my favorite Disney movies! Awesome adaptation for me, great visuals and animation and character designs.

PS. I just noticed my characters' initials are RS. Cool. Haha namimiss ko nanaman ang high school!

I'm very inspired!

The sketch on the right, see it? I colored it in earlier because our internet was down the whole morning. Since I got nothing to do, I practiced coloring! The finished piece is in my deviantART account and in my sketchblog.

Before, I used to draw anime but I feel as though I should step away from it and come up with my own style of drawing.

Ever since Grade 3, I've always drawn anime up until my mid-4th year life. Sometime I'll post my old anime drawings here. Hee. :) But now, I'm off on a journey to get that cartoon-y style. I have a dream, you see. It's a VERY far-fetched dream for someone like me, for someone who's just in the beginning of being an artist. But I believe in the words of the man who've inspired me to go on and move forward. To reach for my dream even though it may seem so faraway from where I am today.

Hey life sucks at times and there are times that we're like the happiest people in the world. Also there are times that we've given up because of certain things that destroy our focus on the road we're paving. However, there's always God to shed some light, to guide us along the way. Helping God are our family, our friends, our inspirations and those strangers we see in our daily life whom 'could' play a special role in our life someday.

Ngayon-ngayon lang eh nainspire akong magstart small. Make my own comic strips. Then probably a webcomic sometime. But if I'm being ambitious at best, maybe a movie! Ha. May limitations din ang pangarap. Hahaha so I'll start small first. Then work my way up the ladder until I reach the moon!~ Am I making sense? Well I hope so. Haha that's another goal of mine. To insert some sense into the words I'm saying/typing. Oh well, there's always room for improvement!
